Thanks For Stopping By!

Andrew's Toy Box was founded in memory of Andrew Fimbel, who passed away on February 17, 2001 from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).  The disease is the No. 1 genetic killer of children under two.

This organization's aim is to be a source of comfort, love and support to sick and needy children around the world.

The Fimbel family extends warm and special thanks to visitors of this site. Your interest in Andrew and SMA makes all the difference in the world!

Andrew's Story & Song

About Our Organization

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing special care packages filled with toys, crafts and books to children with life-threatening illnesses.  Our mission is very simply to provide smiles to the faces of sick children.  We feel children facing the most difficult of life's circumstances deserve all the special treatment they can get.

Quite often, because of expensive medical bills and equipment costs, as well as a lack of time, many parents cannot afford to provide special toys for their children to enjoy. When families are faced with the trying circumstances of dealing with daily challenges of the child's illness, it is very easy for everyone involved to feel isolated and without hope. Receiving a surprise package from Andrew's Toy Box helps both the children and their caregivers know they are not alone.

It is our greatest desire that our care packages provide a fun and welcomed diversion for kids who are enduring a long, gloomy hospital stay.  We believe they not only make a positive impact but also bring great comfort to every child who receives them.

2019 Toy Drives & Fundraiser

2019 has been an awesome year for Andrew's Toy Box with highly successful Toy Drives at the Betty Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, NC, the Nunnelee Pediatric Speciality Clinic and the MedNorth Health Center in Wilmington, NC.

In addition, our recent fundraiser at St. Mark Church in Wilmington, NC was a huge success. Numerous beautiful cookbooks entitled “Healthy Recipes for a Busy Life," were donated by author Jen Arricale and were sold to parishioners to benefit Andrew’s Toy Box. A huge thank you to Jen and all the wonderful people who supported this phenomenal event!
